Origin
Latur, Maharashtra. 100% organic groundnuts (Arachis hypogaea). Nothing else.

Method
Wood-pressed (kolhu) under 45°C, settled 72 hours, then filtered through cotton. No solvent, no refining.
Care
Keep the cap tight, away from sunlight and the stove. Natural sediment is expected — it is the mark of an unrefined oil.
Pressed the way it was a century ago — slowly, at temperatures that never exceed 45°C, in a wooden kolhu. Nothing is bleached, deodorised or chemically extracted. What reaches your kitchen is the whole character of the nut: a deep golden colour, a rounded aroma, and a smoke point high enough for a Sunday puri as well as a weekday sabzi.
Excellent oil, wish the 5L had a tap
No complaints about the oil itself — it's genuinely good and the aroma is strong. Only feedback is that pouring from the 5L can is a two-hand job.
Been using refined oil for fifteen years out of habit. Two months on this and I don't think I'll go back. The sediment at the bottom threw me at first until I read that it's supposed to be there.
I had almost forgotten what real groundnut oil smells like. The first time I opened the bottle my mother walked in and asked what I was cooking — I hadn't started yet. Puris come out clean, not heavy.
The seed is crushed slowly at a temperature that never rises above about 45°C. Industrial oil is extracted with heat and a chemical solvent, then bleached and deodorised to make it uniform. Cold-pressing skips all of that, which is why the oil keeps its colour, aroma and nutrients — and why it varies slightly from batch to batch.
That is unrefined oil behaving normally. Fine particles of the seed stay suspended and settle over time. Refined oils are filtered and chemically treated until nothing is left to settle. Give the bottle a gentle swirl before use.
A cool, dark cupboard with the cap closed tight. Keep it away from the stove — repeated heating and cooling shortens its life. Refrigeration is not needed and may cause harmless cloudiness.
Nine months from the date of pressing, printed on every bottle along with the batch number. Because there are no preservatives, we recommend using it within two months of opening.
Groundnuts from farms around Latur and sunflower from Solapur, both in Maharashtra. Every batch carries the number of the pressing lot, so we can trace it back to the source.
